Feb 2, 2009 - While examining issues related to the province’s dwindling affordable housing stock, the Poverty Reduction Coalition began to investigate who was actually participating in the provision of affordable housing and to what level builders and developers were involved. Recognizing that considerable work had already been done by builders and developers, the Coalition captured and shared this information in an accessible way.
With financial support from the Alberta Real Estate Foundation, the Poverty Reduction Coalition commissioned the University of Calgary to conduct a review of best practices and innovative opportunities for private sector involvement in the creation of affordable housing.
